This time we went back to the roots. We removed redundant or little-used "bells and whistles" and we returned to the simple-to-use player.

ALLPlayer 5.4, what's new, what's improved or changed:

• reduced up to 10 x the use of the computer's memory
• AVI files and many others are played by embedded codecs that are already in the installer, so there is no need to download anything else to watch these files
• no more flowlist, browsing of images, movie menu creation
• simplified ALLPlayer settings
• video files starts faster
• improved locking of screensaver and turning off the monitor when watching
• improved switching audio tracks and subtitles
• improved settings of your own keyboard shortcuts
• improved centering of subtitles
• improved bug that in rare cases, could even damage built-in codecs
• you can choose in installer whether you want to use ALLPlayer codecs or system codecs
• improved "fast zoom" (PLUS button in the upper right corner of the OSD)
• anti freeze protection (if the program is not responding for a few seconds it restarts itself)

The latest version of one of the fastest developed our programs:

• it should work at "without transcoding" settings (recommended), and the movies will be transcoded even then

• displaying the directory structure on the connected devices fixed, now it looks exactly like on your PC

• files decoding improved

• displaying of jpeg images on some devices fixed

• running a video file by double-click improved

• mkv playback works properly with a soundtrack in FLAC format
• some MOV and MP4 files playback improved (it didn't work despite all the necessary codecs in the system)
• fixed problem with some mp3PRO files which showed the cover over the entire screen, instead of "in place"

• "Always on top"mode by which the window pop-up messages was invisible and blocked ALLPlayer improved
• Additional information about the logs of codecs used by ALLPlayer in case a problem with opening a file (useful for testers) added

• after installing the new version it is not necessary to run ALLPlayer in order to switch off reminder of the new version as it was before

This version has a new GUI and it is adapted to the changes on YouTube.com (old version stopped working). Some new features are also added.

Pretty soon after the latest version has, there is another with the following amendments:

• correct detection of all connected devices

• automatic switching of windows services required to operate the program
