There are elements of Ricky Gervais’ trademark black humor and cynicism in this new series, however, After Life is quite a touching story, with some eye-watering moments. The six-part series, written and directed by Gervais, tells the story of a young widower, Tony, and how he copes and approaches life after his wife, Lisa, dies of breast cancer.
